Ceredigion, once known as Cardiganshire is a county in the west of Wales, and is the second most sparsely populated county in the country with a population of just over 71,000, mostly centred around a few major towns, with Aberystwyth being the largest. Cardiganshire was formed in 1282 by Edward I, and the current county shares the same borders. It is renowned for its historical significance and modern developments.
