Three Rivers is a local government district in south west Hertfordshire, north of London, with a population of around 94,000. Its notable towns are Rickmansworth, where its council is based, Leavesden, Oxhey, Carpernders Park and Chorleywood. The district was created in 1974 when three former were merged, Chorleywood and Rickmansworth Urban Districts, and Watford Rural District. The ‘Three Rivers’ in the name refers to the rivers Chess, Colne and Gade which flow through the district and all meet at Rickmansworth. The underground stretches through teh district with stations at Rickmansworth, Crosley, Moor Park and Chorleywood.
The district is known for its exclusivity and highly priced housing stock. Notable properties in teh district include Moor Park Mansion, Basing House (home to the Three Rivers Museum), and several Grade II* listed buildings like Hunton Park and Langleybury House.
